VP Product Development

The Vice President Product Development will advance and apply scientific concepts in support of Eikos’s product and IP development efforts. This person defines scientific directions, explores frontiers, and drives concepts through to support market opportunities by exploiting external funding sources. This individual will be given the freedom to act as a program leader/integrator directing others towards goals and objectives. Understanding market opportunities and matching or developing new competencies within the company to exploit those opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

The person in this position will provide program management in the development of nanotube based composite technologies, with emphasis in two core areas: energy and electronics devices. These projects involve multidisciplinary development encompassing the integration of electrical, optical, mechanical, and chemical technologies.

The person in this position will manage one or more Government programs while also identifying new program leads, developing new concepts, producing proposals and developing external business opportunities. Candidate will work closely with engineers, scientists, and executives to develop proposals and will manage projects across a broad range of applications. The person in this position will also work with the companies VP and President to articulate commercialization paths for ongoing and proposed research efforts to potential investors, licensees and collaborators.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain customer business relationships within:  DoD, DOE, other government agencies, and commercial customers
  2. Create, maintain and protect proprietary information and technologies, i.e. patents, secrecy agreements and trademarks.
  3. Promote safety, housekeeping and environmental responsibility within the firm.
  4. Participate as company technical and business representative to customers and at conferences.
  5. Provide technical advice, information and support to customers.
  6. Develop new applications for current products
  7. Expand companies core technical competency into related fields
  8. Initiate, develop, and recommend strategic technical goals and objectives for the company.
